We are officially on vacation!  We are using today to pack and think hard about what we are forgetting!

For people who are as uninformed as I used to be, Saudi Arabia is just east of northern Africa.  It is separated from Sudan and Egypt by the Red Sea, although I believe it is attached to Egypt in the northern area.  Katie and Moe live in Jeddah.  It is on the western coast of Saudi Arabia along the Red Sea.  Moe's parents live in Riyadh which is more over on the east side of Saudi Arabia.

We will be travelling almost 24 hours to get there.  The longest part of the trip is from Washington D.C. to Jeddah--nonstop for 12 hours and 15 minutes.  It is 6,585 miles from Washington D.C. to Jeddah.

Saudi Arabia is 7 hours ahead of Vincennes time.

The weather forecast is nearly always the same.  Right now, at 1:00 am, it is 88 degrees in Jeddah.  The forecast for the next 5 days is:
Sunday--no clouds, high of 102, low of 81
Monday--no clouds, high of 102, low of 82
Tuesday--no clouds, high of 100, low of 82
Wednesday--no clouds, high of 102, low of 82
Thursday--no clouds, high of 102, low of 82
We may want to plan something special on Tuesday when it won't be quite as hot!!

Saudi Arabian trivia--Major lakes or rivers in Saudi Arabia:
There are no lakes or rivers in Saudi Arabia.
The Red Sea is saltier than the oceans around here because there is no fresh water running into them to dilute the saltiness.
